Student Housing

The Area

 

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s main campus is located off Exit 24, Interstate 64, in the scenic mountains of western Virginia.  Thirty minutes west of Lexington, 25 minutes east of the West Virginia border and 50 minutes northwest of Roanoke via U. S. 220, the area is a nature lover’s paradise, offering a variety of sports and activities. Safe and friendly communities dot the area served by the College.

 

Student Housing

 

Students will find a variety of housing options in the area. The College assists students and families by sharing information about rooms, apartments and houses available to rent.  Individuals and businesses listed as housing contacts have indicated their interest in sharing information with students.  Please call Student Services at (540) 863-2815 for more information.

The Homestead Resort

Located in Hot Springs, Virginia, The Homestead is a premier mountain resort located in the College’s service area, approximately 45 minutes from the main campus.  With its reputation for beautiful facilities and excellence in guest services, The Homestead seeks employees who are interested in working at a property where the staff takes pride in meeting the needs of its discriminating guests.

Students who are employed by The Homestead may want to live in the hotel’s dormitory-style employee housing facility, located within walking distance of the hotel.  Affordable rates for rooms ($60.00 per week) and meals at reduced rates in the employee cafeteria are available for DSLCC students who are employed by The Homestead for at least 16 hours per week.

In the Covington/Clifton Forge area, students will find a wide variety of eating establishments, ranging from fast food to fine dining.  Some restaurants offer a 20 percent discount to students who show a valid DSLCC Student ID card.  This offer is currently available at the following:
