Associate of Applied Science Degree in Technical Studies in Welding
The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Technical Studies in Welding is intended to:
- Provide a mechanism to meet employer needs for customized program design
- Provide a framework for students to be able to complement training and experience with formal education
This degree is intended to provide students with several career oriented skills which will allow them to work in a modern fabricating facility; be prepared for structural and maintenance welding; be prepared for quality control, inspection or welding management through required business and general study courses.
Program Requirements
Students whose placement test scores indicate the need to increase their level of proficiency in reading, writing and/or mathematics will be required to take the appropriate developmental courses. Enrolling in developmental courses may increase the length of time necessary for completing the chosen course(s) or program of study, but will enhance the student's preparation for college-level coursework and increase the chances for successful attainment of academic, occupational and personal goals.
